the perfect black mail picture...

my dad and i were outside adjusting all of our sprinklers.  mia was jumping around telling me that she was going to put on her swimming suit to play in the water.  she scampered off squealing with delight with george hopping at her heels (as usual).  when they came back outside, this is how george was dressed!  mia very proudly announced that she had dressed him.  i would say, "poor kid," but i think he knew that he had done something funny because he was just cracking up.  he does have nice little legs.  oh, it felt so good to laugh!

guinea pigs...

i am currently enrolled in an online photography class.  this week our assignment was to take a picture with our subject off-center, but still in focus.  i could have taken another picture of an apple (i know, so creative), but i decided to attempt to get my kids to sit still for a backyard portrait.  we had such fun playing and laying in the grass, and i could just look at these little faces all day long...they are much better than an apple!

this is the face george makes when we say, "say cheese!"

i realize that NONE of this picture is in focus, but i love george's little foot sticking up!  he does it all the time!

gotcha!

the day before st. patrick's day, mia made a leprechaun trap.  she decorated it with glitter to get the leprechaun's attention (very important).  then she glued gold coins on the inside to lure the greedy little fellar in.  then she put a rug on the floor so he'd be comfy.  we put the trap outside the night before st. patty's day to see if we could catch a leprechaun that would lead us to a pot of gold!  we checked it several times in the morning, but there was no leprechaun.  dang!  when mia got home from preschool, though, we discovered that a leprechaun HAD visited our trap!  he left some coins, a note and a picture of himself.  maybe we'll catch him next year!!!

picnic at the temple

every other wednesday, the kids and i have a lunch date with my mom.  a little over a week ago, my mom thought it would be fun to take the kids up to the temple for a picnic.  we had such a good time looking at the beautiful grounds and enjoying the peaceful spirit there.  my mom pointed out lots of neat things about the temple.  aren't grandmas the greatest??

13.1, baby!

my sister, jamie, and bff, candice, ran a 1/2 marathon up at red rock canyon on march 7th.  the first 5 miles were completely uphill!  plus it was freezing cold and windy.  my parents and i drove the course on a spectator bus while the runners were racing.  seriously, it doesn't get more pathetic than that.  actually if we were eating nachos or something while riding on the bus, that would make it even more pathetic!  jamie came in at 1 hour 52 minutes.  candice was right behind her at 2 hours 7 minutes.  i am so proud of these women...

i had on 5 layers and was still cold.  i was walking into the bathroom, and a little girl (probably around age 8) looked at me and just said, 'whoa!'
