little patriots

the last day of our utah visit was father's day. i don't think we've spent a father's day with papa george since we moved, so it was nice to be there to celebrate with him. we made him a sweatshirt with a picture of the grandkids on it (and YES he will wear it...maybe just around the house, but still). mia made him a bookmark with pressed flowers from their yard. we also celebrated russ's birthday (a week early) with 2 leslie's bakery birthday cakes...one chocolate with pineapple rum filling and the other white with raspberry filling. they are a morgan family tradition, so it's good our kids finally got to experience a morgan birthday done right.

u-t-a-h

we went to utah for a week to visit russ's family. we had the BEST time! we spent lots of time with russ's family and we had the opportunity to visit many friends too. we spent hours in grandma dolores's flower garden, went to the zoo, visited wheeler farm, ate out a ton and relaxed. it was a great vacation. we're grateful for how easy it is to visit...the morgans take good care of us.

recital celebration take 2!

mia wanted to celebrate her dance recital accomplishment the same way that we celebrated last year by going to town square to eat at california pizza kitchen and play at the playground. i'll be honest, it wasn't a smooth evening. we waited FOREVER for a table, the air conditioning was broken and our service was, let's just say, not good. BUT despite all the frustrations, it was fun to celebrate mia. and, hey, she even got to meet hello kitty.

lazy afternoons...

after mia's dance recital we spent the afternoon in the backyard picking our first ripe tomatoes and eating pixie sticks. i can't think of a better way to spend the day. i love the picture of george with his papa george.

high school musical dance recital!

mia performed in her second dance recital, which was themed "high school musical." she danced to "tomorrow" (from annie). she did a wonderful job and didn't forget one step! she didn't seem to have a bit of stage fright. she was supported by all of my family, russ's parents and her primary teacher. it was so fun to watch her on stage! i don't know why i was so emotional, but i cried through half the performance. i guess i can't believe how grown up my baby is!

cloud cover

we had a bit of cloud cover one day, so i was able to take a few shots of the kids while they played outside without the sun shining in their eyes. i love the picture of mia's hands and feet because she wanted each nail a different color.

preschool graduation

on may 27th, mia commenced her second and final year of preschool. over the course of the past 2 years, mia has grown and matured in many ways. she has enjoyed socializing with other children and she has loved learning. she can't wait for kindergarten and lets us know it every time we pass her soon-to-be elementary school!
